What it stands for:

CUC = Clean Up Crew

 

What they do:

As the acronym suggests, they clean up the leftovers and unwanted in your aquarium.  They'll eat the detritus (poop & other organic wastes), leftover food from your fish, various algae, cyanobacteria, and even diatoms.

Caring for Your Clean Up Crew (CUC):

+ Always acclimate your Clean Up Crew before putting them into your tank.  This reduces stress for your CUC and increases the chances of survival in your tank.

+ Research the different Clean Up Crew Members to see if they have any unique needs

+ Provide extra care for your crew by feeding them if run out of food

+ Check water and maintain ideal parameters for your CUC
